The old estate, that lies on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, was restructured and made welcoming and comfortable while preserving the features of the traditional Tuscan ‘casali’.
These characteristic colonial homes, scattered in all Val di Chiana, were built under Leopold, Great Duke of Tuscany, to improve the peasants’ life conditions and are still called ‘Leopoldine’.
The location is strategic for artistic and cultural itineraries.
The rich history of fascinating and picturesque towns such as Montepulciano, Cetona, Pienza, Cortona, Sarteano and Città della Pieve are all at a short reach.
If you are also looking for wellness, you can benefit from the various thermal water sources, like those in Chianciano Terme, Rapolano and San Casciano dei Bagni.
The natural itineraries will lead you to further discover an originally swampy and now vast and fertile plain.
The name ‘I CHIARI’ is given by two small stretches of water (‘chiari’ in Italian) not far away from the estate. Surrounded by reedbeds and woods of poplar, maple and willow trees, the Lake of Chiusi and the Lake of Montepulciano are plunged in an enchanted atmosphere. The Lake of Montepulciano lies in a natural reservoir to which boat excursions on the Battello Ecologico (or ‘ecologic boat’). Nearby is Lake Trasimeno, dominated by the fortified citadel of Castiglione del Lago.

The holiday home I Chiari provides rooms and flats capable of hosting 2 to 4 people to couples, families and groups and that include a living room with a double bed, a single sofa bed, a kitchenette and a bathroom. Entrance is independent. The ideal solution for romantic weekends, family holidays, groups of friends, ceremonies and events.
